Don't miss the final gear drops of 2024

A MASSIVE giveaway, best knives of the year, and the final drops of the year in this week's episode...

Hey there,

Tonight marks the longest night of the year. December 21 isn’t just the Winter Solstice, it’s also National Flashlight Day. There’s no better time to take stock of the tools that light our way—literally and figuratively—and highlight the importance of gear we rely on in the dark. So here’s your reminder to charge your flashlight (when’s the last time you did that anyway?) and consider some last-minute stocking stuffer flashlights for all those people in your life that you know need a better flashlight in their life.

With Christmas just days away, the world of EDC has gone quiet, but there are still a few gems you don’t want to miss.

Let’s do the damn thing!

ICYMI at BDEDC

There are two final Best Damn EDC videos to look forward to in 2024, our defacto and super official knife roundups: Best New EDC Knives of 2024 and Best New EDC Fixed Blades of 2024.

Both videos will be released before Christmas, so keep your eyes peeled. We’ll also be taking time off to recharge so we can hit it hard next year. We’ll see you again in 2025.

Carry Commission Giveaway

In the meantime, we’ve got a big giveaway happening at Carry Commission to finish out the year. It’s really simple: any purchase over $75 will earn you an entry, and a purchase over $200 will earn you an additional entry.

These cannabis gummies keep selling out in 2024

If you've ever struggled to enjoy cannabis due to the harshness of smoking or vaping, you're not alone. That’s why these new cannabis gummies caught our eye.

Mood is an online dispensary that has invented a “joint within a gummy” that’s extremely potent yet federally-legal. Their gummies are formulated to tap into the human body’s endocannabinoid system.

Although this system was discovered in the 1990’s, farmers and scientists at Mood were among the first to figure out how to tap into it with cannabis gummies. Just 1 of their rapid onset THC gummies can get you feeling right within 5 minutes!

Drops This Week

The Vero Engineering Nova Mini packs all the punch and aesthetics of the original Nova in a much more compact package. Featuring a 3.25” (82.5mm) M390 drop point blade with a wide, high flat grind, this titanium frame lock spans 7.50” (190.5mm) overall and weighs 4oz (113.4g). Designed for versatility, it includes a lanyard hole and sleek proportions. Mini Novas dropped last week and are in stock now at Vero Engineering.

Vosteed Cutlery has reintroduced the Corgi V, enhancing the original design with the proprietary Vanchor Lock—a pivot-based button mechanism. The 2.98” (75.7mm) 14C28N blade now features a "wheeler" deployment, inspired by Zippo lighter flint wheels, enabling smooth thumb-rolling openings. These updates aim to elevate user experience, particularly for those who appreciate innovative, fidget-friendly knives. The Corvi-V is available now at Vosteed.

Shawn Ashmore, actor and hardcore knife enthusiast (sorry, not sorry Shawn), the Peace Neighbor Archon is an American-made pocket-sized pry bar, built entirely from titanium. At 4.5” (114.3mm), it’s compact, grippy (thanks to milled pockets), and tough enough for hard use. Finished with a custom-milled titanium clip, it’s available in plain titanium, anodized blurple, or green. A versatile tool that earns its spot in your EDC. The Archon will be restocked at 2 PM EST over on the Peace Neighbor website.

Bestech Knives has two new knives dropping on Christmas Eve: the EXCENTRIC and VK-VOID. The EXCENTRIC is a collaboration between Kombou Designs’ Grzegorz Grabarski and TNT Knives’ Toni N. Tietzel. It combines a striking M390 techno-tanto blade with a biomechanical titanium handle. Designed in halves, it’s a bold, visually stunning release arriving soon. The VK-VOID is a refresh of the existing model but this time in MagnaCut steel and G-10 handles.

Carry of the Week

This is just a regular brass carry I switch up.

The scales on the PM2 replaced a set of titanium scales that had the predator engraved on it. I switched to brass after my bro passed away from cancer couple months ago, and I sent one side of the scales with him when we buried his ashes and I kept the other side on my bag. Predator was a series my bro and I bonded over, so the scales meant a lot. So when I switched the scales I wanted something special, and saw DNAlasering had these amazing looking brass scales available. Then I saw keybar had a key organizer with similar engraving that I couldn’t resist.
