Should Buying Knives Be a Crime?
New restrictions, new releases, and new gear. Let’s break it down.

The UK is at it again, rolling out Ronan’s Law—a new regulation aimed at curbing knife crime. This time, instead of banning specific designs or limiting ownership, the focus is on retailers. Shops will now have to report “suspicious” or bulk knife purchases and online sales will have stricter age verification. On paper, it sounds reasonable enough. But in practice? That’s where things get messy.
What exactly makes a knife purchase “suspicious”? If someone grabs a few kitchen knives for a restaurant or buys gifts for their groomsmen, does that raise a flag? While this might help pump the brakes on knife crime, it will ultimately also create more headaches and hurdles for benign collectors, enthusiasts, and the folks who use knives as tools every day.
While politicians argue over regulations, the knife world keeps moving forward. This week brings some killer new drops, fresh designs, and plenty of gear worth checking out.
Let’s do the damn thing!

The MMTW Lander 4 dropped on Carry Commission last night. Unlike the original Lander 4, the MMTW features a dark, acid-washed Nitro-V blade, topo-lasered OD micarta handles, and a leather lanyard. The ever-popular Rustic Heirloom Hitchhiker in Cognac was also restocked last night. At the time of this writing, both are still in stock.

Carry of the Week

I am a truck driver hauling fuel and an outdoor enthusiast. I use all of the items listed in the photo daily and carry all of them daily as well, including the Carhartt Bib Overall. The Big Idea Design fixed blade and Leatherman were both gifts from my wife. They hold sentimental value for me.
Featured This Week
The Big Idea Design TPT Slide has been one of my absolute favorite and most used tools for several years. One of the biggest complaints I’ve heard from people is how tough it can be to swap the blades. So those dudes with the big ideas put their heads together and developed a cam-style EZ Swap system that makes blade swaps much easier on the otherwise perfect pocket tool. EZ Swap TPT Slides are available now. |
Details are scarce, but Tactile Turn is dropping the Tonal Collection next week. Judging from the Instagram post, this will be for standard Bolt Action Pens and will come in either a solid burnt orange or soft blue. These colors, like most collections from Tactile Turn, will likely be limited and changed up later in the year. |
