Come See Me at the Great American Outdoor Show
We're skipping drops this week to share some interesting and important EDC content...

This week, we’re taking a break from drops and releases while we rework the back end of this newsletter to make it easier for you to submit your carries and for brands to let us know what’s upcoming.
Instead of drops, I figured I’d share some of the coolest content I’ve encountered this week.
Let’s do the damn thing!

Upcoming at BDEDC

My first knife design, the Civivi Clingman, is almost here. If you’re in the Harrisburg, PA, area this weekend, you can check it out at the Great American Outdoor Show. I will be at the Civivi booth this weekend, and the show continues through the 9th, so stop by and see the Clingman.

Featured This Week
A few weeks ago, I went on an adventure with a friend of mine, Jason Salyer, which is known as Suffering With Salyer. We trekked into the woods in unfavorable weather and with minimal gear for a little therapeutic suffering.
As always, there was tons of content out of SHOT Show last week. If you missed it or don’t have time for a dozen (or more) videos, get some of the quick hit highlights from our friend Melissa’s compilation video.
I always know when a Peter McKinnon EDC update video is about to drop because he texts me with a video or photo of a knife he’s carrying or an existential EDC crisis. This year, he mixed it up by having Brandon Romanchuck of Current Spaces (and photographer for Benchmade) on and they took photos of each others’ carries and compared photos. That Nirvana though…
Metal Complex took a look at the $5 Ozark Trail knife. Should we destroy one of these, too?
Big Idea Design teased its first release of 2025, a second product in the more budget-friendly Base Line series.
This one took me by surprise and I’m sure it will you, too, if you haven’t already seen it. Matt Carriker of Demolition Ranch is retiring from YouTube—not taking a break or coming back later. He’ll be walking away from YouTube, seemingly permanently, in a couple of months.
